SWFAA Meets With Local Elected Officials

Posted By: Johnmichael Fernandez Advocacy News ,

The Southwest Florida Apartment Association has been hard at work trying to connect with local elected officials around the region. Recently SWFAA met with City of Fort Myers Mayor Kevin Anderson and Collier County Commission Chairman Penny Taylor. The SWFAA used this as an opportunity to share information about the apartment industry and discuss priorities, such as housing affordability. Through these types of meetings, SWFAA attempts to build relationships with elected officials and to help place the apartment industry’s interests at the forefront of the conversation.

FAA’s most recent research project, regarding property tax discounts, was shared with the commissioner and you can find it here for your review. Meeting with local elected officials is an important key piece of our advocacy efforts which are to protect the apartment industry.
